Learning Targets: 

1. Students will learn and be able to demonstrate classroom rules and procedures. 

2. Students will sing using their singing voices.

3. Students will match pitch to the best of their ability. 

4. Students will learn a welcome song and a movement song.

5. Students will learn a song in sign language. 

6. Students will learn and demonstrate the difference between loud and soft sounds 

7. Students will learn a song about loud and soft sounds.

8. Students will perform on various percussion instruments and be able to identify them.

Classroom Activities: 

Welcome to Music Class 

- Go over music classroom rules/expectations and procedures 

- Practice rules and procedures 

- Get to know you game 

- This or That Music Procedures Game 

"Hello There" - echo song, matching pitch

"I'm so Happy" - Movement song 

"You are my Sunshine" - sign language

"Hey Everybody"

"Walk, Walk, Stop" 

Beat Buddies - steady beat activity 

Tiny Time - matching pitch, movement 

Scarves - loud and soft 

Echo Activity - matching pitch

"I Can Play and Instrument" - students will sing along and play various percussion instruments in the music room

"Down by the Cool of the Pool" 

- Read the story

- Body Percussion

- Go over classroom instrument procedures

- Add sound effects to the story

"BYE Song" 

If time is needed, end of class music game
