4.Students will be able to read and identify various rhythms using quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests. 

5. Students will perform on instruments using proper playing techniques. 

6. Students will be able to compose their own rhythms using what they've learned in class.

7. Students will complete three music assessments to "show what they know." 

8. Students will be able to identify steps and skips in music.

10. Students will learn about musical form and identify the form of "Good Morning Blues." 

11. Students will play on African Drums with proper playing technique.

12. Students will learn about children in West Africa and how important drumming is in that culture. (page 68)

13. Students will be able to identify a rhythm by listening. 

14. Students will be able to compose and play their own ostinatos.
